singing saw

Martin Brunsden double bassist

It’s a little like playing an octopus, or a hoover, or perhaps the Uilleann Pipes. Yet despite the strangeness, the singing saw's blade can cut through your heart like no other instrument.
It’s especially good for a haunting melody or for cosmic dolphin sounds.
The wind is in there too.

I have a collection of saws now - French, Appalachian, homemade, bass and Vintage. The oldest was made in 1920.

Selected according to pitch and project.
